Was recently given a HOMELITE VI-944 chainsaw. The D>>> thing runs fine for about 2 minutes and then floods out. I have tried rebuilding the carb with no luck. Does Anyone have any Ideas?. It has a Tillotson model HS carb (Stamped 1963). Also, Any ideas on where I can finde an owners/repair/parts listing for this thing. Thanks

Is the cap vented , the engine heat expands the gas builds up pressure and forces it thru the carb

That's a great chainsaw. The Homelite VI-944 was an anti vibe version of the 5.0 CID SXL-925. They were made in the early-mid '70s. Make sure you use premium gas and a 16:1 fuel mix.

Homelite may provide a parts list if you call or email them. I can get the UT number if you your saw doesn't have one. If that doesn't work out, I could scan in the parts list for you.

And about the carb...can't help there. I'm not too hot with those. Ask over on Arboristsite.com.
