Can anyone direct me to the best place (online, catalog, whatever) in terms of selection and price to purchase a good small 110v Mig welder? Thanks.

Go for the best quality you can afford -- you won't be sorry. I bought a high end used welder pretty cheap, and it out-performs a new (cheap) 110v I had by a great deal. If you buy a used one, I suggest you try it first if at all possible.

You will not be happy with a cheap Mig...

weld quality is poor, arc stability poor.

Also your range of what you can weld equally limited.

A good MIG welder isnt cheap, but then
a broken weld isnt cheap either... :)

You might want to consider a 220v welder. They run a whole lot better. It might cost a little more now but down the road it will save you. If possible try to buy a good name brand. I am partial to Miller welder because they stood behind my mig welder, even though the welder was a couple of years out of warrenty, they gave me a new welder when my old welder had problems. Bill
