Hi All, I was wondering if anyone here has any experience/advice to give on using a airless or HVLP gun to paint a deck or house exterior. I want to get a HVLP gun, and thought I might could use it for this. I've heard the airless sprayers (like Wagner) are pretty much useless, but I can't speak from experience. ANY thoughts are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've used my Wagner to paint my former house and my present garage. I was pleased with the results, didn't bother with the hose-in-bucket attachment, so my arm got quite a workout. Make sure you have a roller or brush handy for those time where you start to get a little bit of a run. Clean up on my Wagner was very easy, just follow the instructions.

I saw a fellow once using a Wagner airless sprayer to paint his house (brown latex) and I just had to watch for a while. It was doing a fantastic job. Maybe you better take a closer look at it.

A few years back i used a Campbell Hausfeld airless sprayer to paint an aircraft hanger and attached building -- metal, masonry, and wood. AWSOM!! The thing paints as fast as you can move. Does a nice job too. Overspray --- LOTS! figure on doin lots of masking. Clean up is important but using a hose and lots of water, it is easy. Figure on waisting 'bout a pint of paint (left in pump and hose) with every clean up.
