Hi BFO,

I have never used a 180. All my Syncrowave experience is confined to the 300 models. However, based on the performance of the 300s I would have no reservations about the smaller ones. In prototype and racing fabrication shops the Syncrowave far outnumbers any other TIG welder. Although the older ones are acceptable in every way, I have noticed that the newer models weld a little nicer than the old ones. In addition to TIG, I have also stick welded with a Syncrowave 300. It welds great, and having the foot pedal amperage control is nice. But if stick welding is all it will ever be used for, you'd probably be just as happy with a less expensive unit. Hope this helps...Al English

Thank's for the reply Al. I went and bought it yesterday, and can't wait to get going! Just clearing the shop of jobs first. Had to make a decision on some new equipment, and this machine was in the price/size range. Was a toss up between Miller and Lincoln, but my supplier made me a real deal. Will be using it for Tig only, and on mostly stainless. Also walked out with a Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 50.
