I am having an International Harvester model 3260, 60" mower deck sandblasted and primed. I am thinking of taking it to the local auto body shop and getting it painted with hard emamel. I figure the grass won't stick underneath as much if the paint is hard and smooth. The deck has three blades and it is quite a throw for the far left blade to discharge. Am I wasting my money on paint??? Appreciate any comments on this.

yes the non stick cooking spray will work but... the surface you apply it to must be absolutly clean, a pressure washer at 2000psi wont get it clean enough so it has to be applied to new paint.I've found that ceramic paint works great, just as smooth as glass nothin will stick to it,especially with the cooking spray applied.

P.S.- the cooking spray has to be applied every hour or so because moisture from the grass and the grass itself wash it off.

Folks: I've heard that if you spray that painted deck with some non-stick cooking spray, the grass won't stick. Never tried it myself, but I think I will this year.

Never tried it myself, but how about the special slippery paint used on the inside of gravity boxes sounds like a good idea
