Sorry, have not had time to check this forum in a few days so this is in reply to your post about the welders.

The Deltaweld is a great machine and I do like it. I'm not familiar with the Trailblazer 301G, I have the 250G, 1994 model year. This was since replaced by the Bobcat 225+ then the Trailblazer 250D.

Mine has the Onan P220 gas engine and is AC/DC CC/CV. I have used it quite extensively for many different applications. For running CV solid and fluxcore it does great. Stick side is hot running is much the same as any other of the top end Miller machines and you will see a much better arc than you get from the dialarc, hotter and snappier.

Using the foot control and a tig torch with the gas valve on the handle, it does very well on DC for SS and steel. I have a HF box for arc starting but have not done any AL tig. I did a lot of very nice AL mig using the 30A spool gun.

Overall, it's one of the best machines I have used. I'm looking at setting up another meduim duty service truck and possibly swapping the trailblazer in the heavy duty service truck for a pipepro 304 and putting the trailblazer on the smaller truck.

Hope this helps, if you have any questions, feel free to email me too.

Mark,

Thank you for your insights. I appreciate your taking the time to give me so much info. When I asked the Miller salesman about the Trailblazer he told me it would be a good replacement for my present machines. But, with him being in the business of selling welders, I wasn't inclined to just take his word for it. Thanks again...Al English

If you're considering purchasing a brand new machine, I would like seriously su Hpggest lookng at the PipePro 304 instead of the trilblazer. The biggest Trailblazer w/ the Kubota 18.8 Hp diesel will give you 8kW single phase power while not welding and 280 amps @ 100% duty on DC/CC or 290 amps @ 100% on DC/CV.

The PipePro 304 can be had with the Kubota 26 Hp diesel and give you 300 amps weld current @ 60% plus 12kW aux power in single and three phase. The biggest plus to this machine is it's ability to run high weld current with high aux current at the same time. It's not much more than an XMT-304 attached to an engine drive but the weld output is better in quality. You loose the AC weld output but gain the 3 phase aux power which is enough to run weld current from the machine itself plus from another XMT-304 plugged into it at the same time. The aux power is also of very high quality as well, enough so that it safe to run a computer off it without ripples, spikes or glitches.

The cost difference between the PipePro and Trailblazer with the Kubota engines is not that much either. Don't have the prices handy but I'll inlcude a link below where you can likely get the best prices on all the Miller machines.

If you want to talk righ to the experts about these and which would work better for you, call Miller Electric directly and ask for tech support 800-4-A-MILLER (800-426-4553) Miller has super tech support and will take the time to get all your information and suggest the right equipment to fill your needs.

Check out the link for pricing, I have purchased machines from them myself because they beat everyone elses price by a long shot, in many cases by several hundred dollars.
