I went to work in the shop tonight but it is too cold. Seems the pilot light won't stay on. It is a natural gas 75,000 btu unit Model number PAE75AC
Any ideas on why I can't get the pilot to stay on? As soon as I release the button it dies. Never had a problem before.

Sounds like the thermocouple, the tube that extends into the pilot flame,, gave it up. they have replacments at most hardware stores. John in Ne.

Yea..I have a Modine heater my self.
And i like it but i have had some trouble
with it ..Twice now...
At first it was the Starter switch!!!or the relay switch..they call it

The burner is to start first ...and then the fan
is to start...But in my case ..Just the fan starts and the burner never comes on....
Do you have any thing you can tell me ..that can help????? ???Thanks

Not to split hairs here with John but I'd go for a genuine Modine replacement part. Modine makes great units and spec's their parts accordingly. Not that a generic replacement would not work, just better off in this case to go with the known good OEM replacment.

I recently installed a new Modine Hot Dog unit fueld by propane. Not always, but on ocassion, the burners come on, but not the fan. After a minute or so, the burners shut down, but then 30 seconds or so later, the fan does comes on. After another minute or two, the burners re-light and all is normal. Any clue why the fan does not come on sooner, as in before the burners shut dwon ?

Thanks for the good advice. I have heat again so goofing off in the shop is much more comfortable now.
