Aubie:
Dont take this to the bank, but it seems I recall that Poulan and weedeater are the same, else poulan bought weedeater out?? Doubt if you will find an exact replacement of the one you have.

Hi Aubie,
Since you have had an electric weedeater for 25 years, my guess is that you do not need the extra power and convenience of a gas machine. I assume you have limited use for what you own. I am almost certain that parts are available for your weedeater. I would check with the farm store, small engine repair or lawn mower shops in your area. If no luck, there are new electric models if that is your preference.
I have a large area to maintain and I have owned a Green Machine for over 20 years. It is a commercial grade with a straight solid steel shaft inside the arm as opposed to a spring inside a curved arm. Mine has a grease zerk fitting for the cogs near the string head. Finally, it has a blade with teeth similar to a chain saw and can cut fairly large bushes. This is the only way to go if you have more than a small lawn. Good luck.

Hi i think you wood like a new gas one they are a lot better then the old electric one the balance is a lot better with a lot les vibration is less. There is a lot less hassel with the cord and you donot have to worry if you got a large enough cord for the distance to trim. The gas one work very will they have two strings now i woood never go back to electric just my 2 cent worth

I have a Weedeater gas model and was told several years ago that Weedeater went out of business so you probably will have to look for another brand. I can still get parts but thats about it.
Good luck
