Has anoyne had any luck with any of the Eastwood Co. products that they clame will hold up on exhaust manifolds? Or any other product for that matter. I have a new manifold and before I heat it up and it starts rusting it seems like a good time to paint it if I can get something that will stand up.

Try some John Deere muffler paint. It worked on my headers for my Chevy truck and I have used it on many tractors from mild to wild. It is only about $10 a can but it only comes in black.

I HAVN'T SEEN A PAINT THAT WORKS. THE BEST LUCK I HAD WAS HAVING THE MANIFOLDS SPRAYED WITH ALUMINIUM AT THE MACHINE SHOP. THIS IS A PROCESS TO BUILD UP WORN PARTS. IT DOESN'T LAST FOREVER, BUT THE BEST I HAVE SEEN. WHEN THE ALUMINIUN OXIDIZES, IT TURNS WHITE! GOOD LUCK; MIKE

Yes Tom the eastwood product you are talking about seems to work. My son used this product on a new Ford pickup manifold a couple of years back and it has seemed to work well.

Eastwood has several products for exhaust parts, could you possibly find out which one your son used? Thanks, Tom

You might try some of that black outdoor grille paint. I saw a Rust-oleum black grille paint at Wal-Mart for $4 a can yesterday. It's worth a try.

That grill paint won't take the heat, tried it on my kohler exhaust and it didn't last very long.

I think if you go to some auto parts store and get the high heat paint that they use you might get the paint to sitck longer than a couple of weeks unlike the grill paint that will only work for about two weeks at max.
