I have to quit looking in junk piles on the street! I picked up an OTC "Open Throat" press. The current model is No. 1825. It is a 17.5 ton press that uses a hydraulic hand pump to supply the pressure to a "Power Twin" Ram. OTC says no parts sheets are available for the old models and mine is different from the sheets on the 1825. The number on the gage face(broken) is Y1-A and the number on the tag on the pump is Y21-1. The OTC tech reps says he thinks Y21 is the press model. Does anyone have literature on this puppy? I'm starting to sandblast & clean up now, and anything would be a help.

I have a catalog #55 that shows a open throat pedestal press & a open throat bench press-both using the 17 1/2ton ram (y-15) & the pump (y-21). Bench press is #Y100-A. Pedestal press is #Y102-A.
The A in each case designates w/pump. I have a parts list for the ram but not the pump. Let me know if I can be of furthur help. JerePa. 2-26-02

Where do you find these junk piles on the street with restorable shop equipment?

Billy Bob,
Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. It also helps to have no pride and good brakes on the old truck!
