I have a Sears snow blower and Sears no longer stocks parts for this particular model. I need the gear that goes on the auger shaft. If anyone knows of a source or has one, please let me know.

Thanks..
Bill

I wish I had read your comments before I just bought a used Model 536.918100. It seems to work just fine, but it does leak a bit of gas after being used. The previous owner, who refurbishes snowblowers and sells them, said that this is common with this model and that it starts leaking after you turn it off, but it soon stops. Have you had any leaking issues? It is leaking right under the rear fram assembly under the carburator. Also, do you know where I might be able to get a copy of a manual?

I'm glad I'm not the only poor smuck looking for the same part.
But here may be a solution. My Sears blower is a 22 inch 5 hp the worm gear 50223 went to gear heaven. Murray has suck all the models up.
They have the same gear but different tooth count
So I pulled the Murray blower model 62250x4a, if you use Murrays gear you would need to replace auger shaft also.
I'm looking at both parts diagrams Sears/Murray and they look pretty close. But this is just a theory. I have a call into Murray for the dimensions on the shaft. But if you are interested the part #s are
for the worm gear 51405 and the shaft is 1501128.
This all happen because The OEM used regular #2 bolts and not shear pins on the augers. Hope this helps.I still have hope.
