Any suggestions or hints on the use of a needle scaler? I will be using it to loosen up a thick layer of paint(s) on a Fordson.

Ya, don't use it above my stateroom ALL NIGHT LONG!!!! Oops, sorry, flashing back to my Navy days (smile).

Dem there things work well on cast iron and heavy steel. VERY SLOW GOING, get comfortable. Hearing protection and good respiration, even put a good big fan helping to blow the bad stuff away from you, are essential.

Try it on some scrap metal first. The ones we used on welds would scar up sheet metal.

I reccomend good eye protection, ear plugs and a dust respirator (preferably HEPA or P-100 filters).

I second that. Paint may have all kinds of toxins in it (not the least of which is lead). The needle scaler will pulverize some of the paint into a fine powder which you do not want to breath in. A good respirator and not a dust mask is preferred.
