I got a buddy that is gona make a front weight/bumper for his 460 int. for bushhogin and haulin round bails. He has a 8 in. id pipe that he is going to use . He was gona fill it with concrete . It will be the width of the tractor 6 ft. . I feel this would be a bit heavy to pack around when not needed , I sujested welding up the ends and putting a drain and fill cap to fill with water when needed . How much weight would it gain with water and with concrete

According to my calculations the 32" round stock alone weighs 178 lbs. If a 72" piece is used it would weigh 400.5 lbs. Not counting mounting hardware.

I think you musta calculated for solid roundstock, not pipe.

Yes I did, the caption below the picture said it was made of 5" round bar stock. I didn't take in to account the channel and the receiver hitches, since I didn't know those measurements.

Didn't read the caption on the picture. I was thinking of the original post here about filling a piece of pipe. Sorry.

The volume of the pipe is very close to 2 cubic feet. According to my handy dandy pocket reference concrete weighs 150 lbs per cubic foot and water weighs 62.4 pounds per cubic foot. Given that, the concrete would add 300 lbs and the water would add 124.8 lbs.

Your water will be about 130#, concrete about 300#. That's plus the pipe, assuming a little over 2 cu ft of volume. Is there really a need to remove the weight?
