Most of the older Wards welders I've seen were Centurys. The slider sounds like them.

I got one of them also, my uncle bought it new and gave it to me when I graduated high school. Welds great, we call them cracker boxes around here, I bought a brand new lincoln cracker box to replace it 5 years ago at a clearance sale, that new lincoln sat around in the new box waiting for the Monkey Ward to die, it never did, still going. I've run a ton of 6011's through it.

Hi George, This is Geezer #3 come-in, I mean over

Monkey Ward sold several different machines that were made by Lincoln, Miller, Hobart, Century and?, with maybe the lowest bidder?. With the slides I can elimenate Lincoln as I don't think Lincoln ever used the sliders. Millers big thing was the multi-postion lead plug-in for amp range. I never really kept up with the smaller machines at that time so I could be totally wrong.

Hi Rod,

I just did a quick search of Lincoln website and found this Pipeliner(Lincoln Product name) and this is only rated at 300Amp DC wheres the older models were offered upto 600amps and a diesel engine opition, so there may be another model than the one I have bookmarked and posted here. Take alook around as I don't have time for the next week or so to research it.

Yes they still make the Victor 100 now named 100FC I think. The kit models are Super Range, Super Range II, and the Preformer all have the 100FC mixing chamber and come with different regulators. Northern Tools just had one listed in there new catalog for $140 but I don't know which model as I can't find the damn catalog. CRS you know...lol
I would have took look in person at the new torch kits to see what regulators I would like but I really think there all very adaquote.
I like full #4 shaded face shields as I ware glasses and goggles don't work for me.

Sorry I haven't tried a new welding machine for 10yrs since I retired so I'm out touch with all the new products and thats why I don't comment on what to buy posts. One day I may take some time and rome around some welding shops and try out a few new machines just so I can talk about them.lol
