trying to repaint but cant find anybody that knows what color it is supposed to be.can anybody help? thank you.

i have an original le roi manual on that engine and it shows it as an almond to light ivory color. My engine needs new valves and so far i have not had any luck. If your data plate says le roi roiline it was made between 1954/58. le roi sold out to dresser industries in 54 and climax engines which was a division of waukesha made the le roi engines calling them le roi roiline until 58 when they shut them down and destroyed all le roi company records. I think right now im the biggest le roi collector out here with 15 engines and trying to get some more. the biggest problem is getting the time to finish them all up.I have lots of le roi literature that i share with anybody that needs help. Send me an address and i will send you a copy of the 288 book plus other le roi goodies. That is evidentally a real rare engine today. I got mine in tulsa for 100.00. It had been setting outside for several years and was stuck big time. After tearing everthing apart we could i turned a wood plug the size of the bore and took it to a shop with a huge press. It took over 25 tons of pressure to break it loose but nothing was in bad shape. The cyl only had some minor rust spots and it was a bear getting the rings of but it cleaned up fairly easy. The valves were wore so bad that they could not be ground. Most of my expertise is on the flathead engines but just had d140 ohv engine with a big marlow brand water pump given to me . It is complete except for the mag and even turns over. It has a vertical mag that may be a problem to find. It weighs about 1800 lbs and i think the pump and trucks weigh at least 1200 of it. There is no way of dating either of these as the marlow pump company does not have any info past the late 80s and the le roi only has the model and serial number which indicates it is an early model engine. But no one knows when early and late is. I do know that this pump was forst made in the early 30s and the d140 engine was first made prior to 1940 as some of my info shows a spark plug change in 1940. On the old flathead engines they had casting dates on them. Ed Malcom the le roi man in southwest mo. 417 226 4865 nights or 479 903 3005 days.
