i bought this engine its stationary with a hand clutch and v belt pully the only numbers on it are h 484 and says serial number also international harvestor on the tag.

Is it an overhead valve engine or a flat head engine?

Sounds like a stationary power unit. Many of those used a continental engine labaled by IHC and some had the same engine you would find in a Farmall A which was actually an IHC product.
