I have an old Sears (David Bradley) generator that is powered by a Tecumseh engine.

The engine has a Sears part number tag with 143.526031 and 12E22 on it. Does anyone know what this Sears number cross references to on a Tecumseh part number?

Is there any way to tell how old this generator is by the tag?

Just got the generator working by using the collective wisdom of this site. I used an old drill to flash the coil, then the juice started flowing. Actually, I had to use two drills as the first one was broken. This had me trouble shooting for a while...!What are the odds?

Thanks in advance, TH

I just got a Sears 2000 580.320191 generator as well. I am told it works, just needs to have the carb cleaned out. Sears.Com or Sears for that matter no longer has info on this. If you have any information about this model in your old books, I would love to get it if I could!
Thanks,
Chris

that 143 number is the number of the tecumseh engine onle used to identify to order parts for the engine.the generator has a model number on it itself .it should start with 580 which if i remember right when we had them in the shop was generac.is yours the yellow type generator with the plug in outfit on one end .if you can find that 580 number i have a notebook on those generators with wiring schematics from when i worked for sears.if its the one im thinkin about those were made in the early 70s. don

Don,

The Sears part number is 580.31970. The Generator and engine are blue.

If you have any schematics on this I would appreciate them.

Thanks for your help.

Tim
