I have the Tecumseh H35 on my snowblower and I had it running about 6 weeks ago after summer storage to test it and change the oil. It started up right away as it always has. I ran it out of gas and changed the oil. We had our first big snowfall the other day and of course, it would not start. I"m not getting any indication it even wants to start (no sputtering, etc.). I thought it might be bad gas, so I drained it and put some fresh gas in it, but no luck. I cleaned and regapped the spark plug. The only other thing I saw wrong is the hose that attaches to the carb from the primer bulb was off. I reattached that, but still no luck. I"m going out now to get a new spark plug, but other than that I"m out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Tecumseh carburetors are famous for gumming up in the the main jet and idle passage area. Try squirting a few drops of gas in the carburetor throat, put the gas contain safely AWAY from the area, and try starting it again. If it fires or runs for a few seconds, you've probably got a clogged carburetor.

At the very least, you'll need to remove the float bowl, and clean it out and clean the main jet area with spray carburetor cleaner.

The carburetor may have to come off and be soaked in carb dip, or in the worst case, it may need to be replaced.

LOVE Tecumsehs and may have more detailed advice on how to rescue a badly gummed carburetor, if that turns out to be the case.

You more than likely have the hi speed jet in the bottom of the carb plugged up. take off the bowl nut and clean it really good with tag wire. Do not ever dip a Tecumseh carb, they have a coating on them from the factory to seal the casting and if you dip it, the coeating will be dissolved and the carb could be rendered useless.
