I have found a Fairbanks Morse engine of unknown vintage. The brass plate says NO 1 92399 3HP 450 RPM. I need help identifying this engine. Thanks

Fairbanks Morse is still in business and has a website. At the bottom of the linked page are three links for information and parts for the old engines. One of those sources may be able to help you.

Also, you could click on the "contact" button, and email them, attention "Archives". I have heard of people having success getting information on their old engine that way. Anyhow, it's worth a try.
