I was wondering if someone may be able to tell me how old my Continental engine is based on the following tag information:
Model: AA7
Spec. No.: 15
Factory Serial #: 23221
Block#: AA7B-600-2
Can one also tell from these numbers the original use of this engine?
What was the first year of production of the AA7?
Also are repair parts such as gasket sets, piston rings, Tillotson Carb kits etc. are still available for the AA7? I have not found anything on the Web showing repair parts.
Thanks very much for any help!

Rings can be custom made. Theres a company called Otto Gas Engine Works that can make them. I see them adverise over at www.enginads.com. For other parts you can try Bob's Small Engine Repair of Marion Ia. He specializes in old obsolete stuff. Find him at www.bser.com. As far as dating goes, my oldest AA7 was made 9/9/47. This is according to a lady that had had several of them for sale on ebay quite some time ago. I wish I had saved her email address. She had a list that told the exact date of manufacture, who the engine was sold to, and for what purpose.
