Need help with Honda engine

I need help with a 11 hp Honda engine. It starts and runs about 15 to 120 seconds then dies. You can wait a few minutes and it will start and do the same thing. I have had the carb off and apart as much as I can see to take it apart and it looks good to me. The needle and seat drop down and fuel runs out fine. It appears to be running out of gas. There is no adjustment that I can see to the float. Starts excellent, runs fine for a few seconds and dies. I have hooked a spark tester to it and it is not losing spark. The oil level switch appears to be working fine. I bypassed that and things did not change. Thanks for any help you may be able to give.

Honda carbs are relatively easy to disassemble and clean, but you are going to need a manual to show you all the location of the jets and orfices and emulsion tube. There are some holes in the emulsion tube that are very tiny and you will need to work with a magnifying glass to check them for cleanliness. DO NOT USE TORCH TIP CLEANERS TO CLEAN THESE HOLES. Most of their carbs now are the fixed jet type for idle and high speed. Some do not have an idle speed screw either. Honda has a filter built in the tank which is part of the outlet fitting. There is a fuel sediment bowl built on the carburetor to trap trash. The paper manuals are no longer available from Honda, they only sell CD type manuals. The paper ones now have to be bought from Helm Inc, (The car manual people). the manual is pretty thorough in showing where everything is located. I had one that almost drove me crazy before I got it fixed. See the earlier posts on this board titled "Honda Nightmare". Gene Davis

Gene thanks for your reply. I finally got it to run properly by running some Chemtek??? not sure of spelling?? carburetor cleaner through the fuel tank. I had been told this was good stuff and now believe that without a doubt. I had to let it idle for a few minutes,it spit and popped a couple times when I open the throttle up then took off and ran fine. Thanks again for your post.
