As Scott noted yesterday on the Ford N board the
replacement pump is $76, no parts available. I went to Fleet Farm and picked up a Niehoff # 42191
fuel pump. I cut off the actuator just under 1/2"
long and welded a 3/8" bolt onto it to serve as the actuator. Cut the belt 1 3/8 long under the
head, file two flats on it so it fits into the actuator. (Flats on bolt need to be in line with
points on the hex head so the flat will be down
to ride on the push rod that operates the pump).
The center of the head needs to be 7/8" from the
mounting flange. Note: You must carefully deter-
mine the exact position the bolt needs to be located so that the pump operates and doesn't
jam up the operating plunger. If it is too tight
the head can be filed down to fit. You will also
need to cobble the fuel connections to make it work.

I usually just go to NAPA and get an electric pump. Around $30-$40.

No battery available on this unit. Started by the "armstong" method.
