Spark dies on BS N

I get an OK spark to start with then it dies away to very weak or non exsistant (few seconds). Consequently engine will not fire. It is on a gen set with battery start so i can keep is turning over.

I have had mag checked over, new condenser, spark plug is new and checked various gaps. Mag setting on flywheel checked and OK.
What next! Cheers

Bad coil, new cap is bad(it happens).

Problem solved. Opened up the points further. Running like a charm. Power crisis over!!

The breaker point gap not only controls ignition timing, but also gives the coil enough time to cuild up a charge to fire the coil.
