My father has aquired a vertical old style engine which may be a Novo, however there is no plaque or serial number on it and some of the parts are missing such as the ignition system, govenor and valve train but the head is still on it. The flywheels are 33 inches in diameter and the complete engine is quite heavy with a large base at which was used to bolt down. Can anyone help me find out for my father how to find out if it is a Novo and where could I get parts or at least maybe a picture of what it looks like! The pictures I have seen of the Novos on various web sites look slightly different as the cylinder water jacket on dad's is the same diameter all the way up from the block compared to the pictures which has the cylinder smaller at the block expanding out to a bulbous water jacket. I hope that I am making myself clear, anyway help and info would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou
Jim Robertson
