Hiya Gang,
Ok I would like to know what spark plug equivalent will be used in the Stover CT-2?
And what does the "retard lever" do? When starting does the lever remain up? then when it starts to run the lever is pushed down? Thanks for any help. Have recently purchased this engine and it looks in rather good shape. But dont really know if its Hit and miss or throttle goverend lol. Any way to tell that as well?
Thanks a million gang!! Pics of the engine can be seen at the LINK

The best way to tell if an engine is thottle governed is to look at the carb. If there is a linkage going to it, it's thottle governed. I'm pretty certain yours is hit & miss. The spark retard is used when first starting the engine. Now, I usually get a little corn-fused in this area, but I believe it's suppose to be up at start up, then put in the down postion after it's running. As for the plugs, I would suggest checking out this site WWW.BRILLMAN.COM. John has plugs for almost everything and is willing to help in anyway he can.
