i have a lindsay alamo engine s/n 96187 1 1/2 hp 600 rpm can anyone tell me when it was built? or about the alamo engine co hillsdale mi thanks tim

thanks for the info. im in fortatkinson wi bought it at autcion for 275.00. on cart runs good restored 1960 handstamped tag says. thanks tim

Tim, I just noticed you're in Wisconsin. I am also. Southeastern Wi. Burlington. I talked with another person in Penn. who also has a Lindsay Alamo. Most of them were sold in the upper midwest.

I've got a Lindsay Alamo also. They were built in the late 20's by Alamo for the Lindsay Brothers I believe in Minn. I asked the Librarian in Hillsdale Mi. if they had any info and she was great in supplying what they had. She didn't know of anyone with a S.N. list for the Lindsay's and the only info she knew of was that they were built in the late 20's. The one I picked up sat outside for over 40 years. I took the head off, cleaned out the cylinder. Put it back together, with a new gas tank, and it started right up. Good engine and starts easy.

Here's the best Alamo site I know...I believe there a serial number list in there that you can date your engine with...

hey what color did you paint your 1 1/2 engines. mine still had orginal paint on it to match a dark wine red color. also I had remains of the orginal decal to reproduce. Does anyone know anything about aditional decals being avabale. a frend has a 4 horse and is looking for one.
