When my lawnmower is at low revs, there's absolutely no tension on the governor spring. It's only after I advance the throttle about 2/3 of the way does any tension go on the spring, and if it's not done very slowly the engine will die. Should there be a slight amount of tension on that spring even at slow idle? I'm thinging there should be but I'd like one of you experts out there confirm it for me. Thanks.

extreme RPM fluxuation on my 3.5 HP Classic. Uses 3 to 5 times the fuel as my older 3.5 B/S and is irritating as H. Please advise.

I have the same problem as Tom with my 3.5 classic of RPM fluxuation and I can't find any way to adjust the fuel air mixture. anyone have an idea what this may be caused by or better yet what the solution is?

I have a 4.0 HP B/S mower that runs well but when I get into tall grass, the engine does not rev up. It has just started doing this. If anyone has the solution to this problem, I would certainly like to hear from you. Thanks.

I had the same problem. Tore my hair out trying to fix it. On an impulse I sprayed carb cleaner into the gas and it smoothed right out and has been fine since!!!

Where did you spray the carb cleaner? Right in the tank? or fuel line? I had same problem. Cleaned tank and line and it worked good for a few minutes then back to the same thing.
