What is a 1 1/2 J.D. stationary engine worth? It did not come with a spark plug. Thanks, Sonny

Sonny; Just saw one sold at local auction, went for over $800, and they didn't even run it! Wasn't restored either. There is no accounting for "good sense"! Way over priced, lots of fools with more money then brains.

If that is all it is missing and it appears to be a running engine, probably 3 to 5 hundred. If it is missing parts, stuck or damaged, a lot less. I saw a nice one at the local show here in GA, go for about 650, older restoration and reluctant to crank, but did run. My neighbor saw one that looked pristine and the guy wanted 1000 for it. Don't know if it sold or not. If you are buying, a lot depends on your desire to own one. If you are selling, it depends on how much you discount the time you spent and how much you will miss having it to play with.

What I meant was that it never came with a spark plug rather has an ignitor to give it the spark. Sonny

Oops. Well, it is running and in good condition, easy to crank and keep running, I'd go in the 600+ range.
