I have recently bought a wisconsin inline 4 cylinder engine. It is stuck but it is complete.
I'm looking for a book and any idea's to free it up. Not sure about taking it apart not sure it parts are out there for it.
Thanks Keith

I have an AC4 that was stuck when I got it also but the pistons were aluminum in this one so after soaking them for awhile I got them out in good shape. So I have what I would call a parts engine. I also have a copy of the instruction manual.

Keith,
That's likely a Wisconsin AC-4, AM-4 or AP-4. There should be a data plate on the accessory-drive housing behind the magneto. The model varies by displacement and was built in the '20s to mid '30s, before the V-4s. I have an original manual for my AC-4 that includes all three. If you would like a copy, I'd be glad to supply it gratis. I haven't bought any parts for mine in a while, so can't answer that at present. I have to copy the manual for someone else, too, but haven't dug it up yet; so now I have even more incentive. E-mail me your address and if your data plate is missing include the casting number from the side of the head, on the valve box, as I think that that varies with the model.
Best regards,
Fred
