IT'S A SELF EXTRACTING FLYWHEEL.
DO NOT REMOVE THE CIRCLIP
UNDO THE NUT IN THE NORMAL WAY AND IT WILL GO LOOSE THEN TIGHT AGAIN AS THE NUT COMES INTO CONTACT WITH THE RETAINING CIRCLIP. GIVE THE SOCKET BAR OR WRENCH ANOTHER TAP WITH A MALLET/HAMMER AND IT PULLS IT'S SELF OFF THE CRANKSHAFT SHOULDER.
THE SHOULDER IS TAPPERED AND WITHOUT A KEY, SO YOU WILL HAVE LOTS OF FUN RE-TIMING THE ENGINE.

THE BEST THING WOULD BE TO CONTACT US AND WE WILL EMAIL YOU THE INSTRUCTIONS FREE OF CHARGE.

Hello,
I recently obtained a Villiers Mark 10 stationary engine.
The engine is not complete, since it lacks exhaust pipe and petrol tank.
Since I did not get any spark, I removed the flywheel.
Now I have the following questions:

1.Is it likely that the capacitor is not functioning after many years of not being used? 2. what kind of capacitor do I need 3. how do I adjust the ignition 4. how do I mount the flywheel, since there is no notch, which I expected. I saw one arrow on the casing and one arrow on the flywheel, but there is still one variable, i.e. the position of the crankshaft. 5. what is the construction year of the Mark 10 6.do you have a diital manual, and can I obtain that for free?

Your expertise and answers would help me very much in getting this beautiful engine in an operational condition
