Hi,

I rebuilt my 2.5Kw with rings from Briggs and Stratton sets. I just matched up the bore and ring thickness from several sets. I also used Datsun valves by honing out the valve guides (then needed it anyway) to metric sizes. Bearing inserts should be easy to match up with similar journal sizes. Also, there's plenty of meat on the old Kohler inserts so find an old mechanic and look into tapered shims.

Any idea where I can get a water pump for that engine?

2KW Kohler Lightplant, 4 cylinder liquid cooled L-600 motor with copper radiator. These lightplants used a standard marine Kohler engine and was paired to 1.5KW to 6.5KW Alternators with no modifications. My set was a 2KW with manual start that was in service until hurricane Georges submerged the unit and totaled out the alternator end. The engine that was rebuilt in 1978 and has less than 30 hours will be coupled to a new 2 bearing Alt. end and new frame.

I'm running a 2.5KW built in 1952. I rebuilt it about 15 years ago using rings from various other small engines and Datsun valves. It has been carrying me thorugh typoons since then and has been running about 2 weeks straight since our latest typhoon. I am in desperate need for a water pump for it. Any ideas?
