Wisconsin 2-cyl fuel pump problem

On my 2-cyl engine the fuel pump will not pump from the camshaft or the little hand primer lever. I have replaced the pump with genuine Wisconsin parts. If you take the hand primer lever out and put a screw driver in the hole you can pump fuel. The engine will run a little while and then die from gas starvation. I do not want to put a electric fuel pump on it to keep it original and it is hand cranked with out a battery. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Check your outlet and inlet valves. They could be the wrong way around! I've just bought a 2 cylinder myself.Where would I get parts for it? What would be the value of it once it is restored?
