Wagon wheels, making?

Hi fellows,
Have any of you made steel wagon wheels for your engines? have equipment to bend hoops and turn hubs. was wondering best way to center hubs to weld spokes or any other words of wisdom on the subject, thanks.

Lay it out on a piece of drywall covered plywood with a compass, drill a hole for the hub to sit into, place the rim on the outer circle and block it into place with bricks or iron blocks, tack 3 spokes into place, remove wheel and finish welding. A bit of sledge adjustment may be necessary for true running.

I was thinking of making some wheels too.I was planning on using maybe 8 in.heavy wall pipe cut maybe inch and 1/2 or 2 inch wide.Was going to use 1/2 in. or 3/4 in. pipe for center hubs.Flat stock for the spokes.Probably 6 spokes.I wasn't too concerned with being perfectly centered.After all,the carts are usually pulled around by hand.You got any other ideas?Pollack Pete
