I am Currantly working for a team of landscapers who use a BSA stationary engine to drive thier soil sherdder it is however in need of some restorantio (alothough it does run (if a little smokey)) We belive it is an A serires as the only number we can find on the block starts with an A. We also estimate it to be around 400-450cc. Is this just a converted motorbike engine or do we have a REAL stationary engine on our hands. Any infomation on the possiblities please. Also any possible parts and manual sources.

Thanks alot

Tim

Tim,
As far as I know BSA did make stationary engines.
I don't know much about them.
There were models B,C,D,E,S & Z.
Hope this helps. Manuel

Hi, I'm from Australia. I've just acquired a 420cc BSA 4-stroke engine that I intend to restore, it sounds similar to the engine being spoken of here. Any chance you may be interested in sharing a copy of your parts manual? Cheers, Dave

p.s. If anyone knows what the original colours/paint codes were on these engines, I would be very interested to know

Hi I have a 420cc BSA engine that still has most of the original paint on it.

I can send some photos if you wish.

I would be interested to know what horse power they are.

Regards
Jim Baker
