The best I can get out of the ol' girl is two pops. Good compression as the valve seats are almost new, timing fine, fresh gas around the needle and getting to the cylinder, and the brighest blue spark every time, full width of the electrodes, choke once or twice, needle turned out one revolution. Quick upstrokes on the compression stroke. Arm wore out tonight. Any ideas?

I agree- mine starts nice with the needle barely open. Mine would gag on one turn open!

Try starting it with the needle only turned out about 1/4 turn instead of a full turn. A full turn is probably giving it too much fuel, and flooding it out.
