I have a Fairbanks-Morse "Z" 3hp that is equiped with an American Bosch type AB33 ED-1 magneto. Just by rocking the flywheels, I am not getting any spark from the mag. in the forward direction, but I have a small spark in the reverse direction. What could be the problem? I live in Lincon Co. Missouri (50mi north of St. Louis). Does anyone know someone who works on them around here? Thanks.

Get in touch with Ted Brookover at ignitors@earthlink.net , He is in or just out of Kansas City Mo. Ted should be able to change the condenser to a capicitor in the armiture of the mag and make it fire for you. The condenser is what is always going bad in the AB33 mag's. By the way Ted has a web site at www.ignitors.com
