I'm with an employer in Tulsa, OK. Is there a local union to get Stationary Engineers when the one you employ is on vacation, out sick etc.?

It depends on what you are talking about. For stationary gasoline engines, you don't need a license. However, for steam, in some states, you are required to have a license, whether it is a stationary engine or a traction engine.

Her Fiance was pullin her leg. I hope it did not hurt too much. There is no licences to operate a stationary engine.

Are you trying to get him licence for the operation of power plants in locations like a Hospital or some large complex? Where steam boilers are part of the system.

Stationary engines are like lawn mowers. You're not recquired to have a license to operate one. Of course, having enough sense to do it safely is an asset. Just what are you wanting?

Some states it is not required. But some states do. Here in Iowa there are schools in Des Moines that require the employees operating the steam vessels to have a license in order to obtain the job.
