Wisconsin V4 Help

My dad and I have wisconsin ve4. We have been working on it for over 2 months now. But it still won't run. Here's what we've tried: new mag and all spark plugs get spark, cleaned carb and intake manifolds, and we think we have it timed correctly. But all we get is cylinder number 3 only gets warm. Now I am open to just about any suggetions from any one. Thanks in advance. Please reply by e-mail only thanks

Did it run at all when you had it?

Make sure the mag is not 180 degrees off time, easy to do when R+R the magneto. See my post below. Make sure you know which way the mag turns and follow the firing order from #1. More than once did I get messed up on reverse wiring a cap. It will run, but only on two cylinders.

Re; The the other post, you do have compression in all cylinders, the exhaust valves do stick. Make sure the cam lobe is down on the valve you are working on. I heard of a broken cam from too much hammer!

On my combine I flat belted the beast to a Ford tractor and spin it till it started! Not always possible, and if they are used regularly they will start right up on the 2-3 pull.

check the compression-when these set for awhile the valves will stick. if they are not set to hard you can free them through the plug hole using a drift and oil on the stems and turn it over by hand.will take time-hope this helps you out
