A family member found a Bessemer engine shedded in an oil field, complete, not stuck, seems set up for natural gas or gasoline (kerosene?). The owner is an elderly gentleman and says its a fifty horse. Any idea of value?

Thanks for any replies.

Is this an open flywheel engine? Or is it a later Cooper-Bessemer enclosed crank?
Forced lub or Oiler/drip type of lub?
Can you find a serial number? What region is it located in and how hard would removal be for restoration and showing?
All of this will help determine the real value.

I have a 50-horse Bessemer engine and I need to know how to place a value on it.

Please respond to riggsbj@hotmail.com

Thank you,
