It is a Hercules built engine, just from the shape of the hopper and the absence of mounting holes for a crankgaurd I would have called it an Economy. Where does it say Grover? Nice find, by the way. Are you guys into engines already or is this one your first?

We have been collecting since about 1991, started with a 1935 Farmall F12 and an LB engine. Getting a pretty varied group of engines in the building for "someday." Have a few Maytag, a couple of JD, several LB"s, a couple of IH M engines, and several Farmall tractors: F12, F14, A, C, two Hs, and a W-9.

Pictures here!

Thanks for all the info and help!!

That engine is DEFINITELY a Hercules engine. Looks like it originally used an ignitor, and has been converted to spark plug igniton.

Here's a link to the Hercules engine website. If you check the pictures, you should see an engine like yours. If the serial number tag is still on your engine, you can check the serial number list, and date your engine.
