Hello, We took possesion of a Waukesha XAHUIU5631E engine, Unit # 45794 4 cyl flathead with a twin disc clutch, nice enclosure, and radiator. It has a crank start, it is a gas engine. No hours on this unit, it was used as a back up power supply for a city water supply well. Does anyone know how old it is, or anything about it? (The above info came off plate)We would like to sell this unit, just need some help! Thanks!

You shouldn"t have too much trouble; the XA"s and XAH"s were used from the late 20s or so up into the early 50"s (if memory serves) from some early Int"l trucks in the late 20s/early 30"s and all kinds of stuff including Fairmont Railcars. While there"re almost certainly lots of variations, it should go pretty quick, especially to the Int"l truck people. A post on some forum said the XA was thermo-syphon and the XAH was higher output, bigger bore with water pump. I may still have some notes here on applications, including some combines or other farm equipment; if I find them I"ll email a list. Good luck.
