Hello

I now got manuals for my 4 HP IHC Victor engine, thnaks for the hint.

But one thing I can not see from the manauls is if the engine had a water pump to be fited as a standard. The engine is a horizontal Tank cooled engine.

Is the hot water able to rise the apx. 20" to the top of the cooling tank with-out a water pump ??

Best regards, Erik Larsen - Denmark

All these old hit or miss engines cool by the evaporator method. The water gets hot and the heat is given off as steam. As long as water is in the tank it won't get hotter than 212 degrees.

Don't make the mistake I see so much and put antifreeze in the tank. It ain't water! It has to be water to be able to give off the heat as steam.
