Ols Waukesha Engine / Lincoln Welder

Hello,

I have an old Waukesha Engine mounted on a trailer with a Lincoln Wleder. How can I find out what model the engine is?

It is 4 cyl. flathead, with crank start and no provision for electric start.

It is on a homebuilt trailer with (I think) a model A front axle, wheels and Ford V8 hubcaps.

Any help would be appreciated!

I will take a stab at this. I am assuming this is a Lincoln SA 200 or sheild arc and I would also hazard a guess it is a Continental F162 engine. it probably is a "short Hood" model. this jewel was probably made sometime in the late 40"s early 50"s
you can take the model number off of the welder and go to the lincoln web site and download a manual. and by the way i have seen a sinilar welder with a smaller 2 cylender wisconsin motor. Happy Hunting

Welll...fools rush in where angels fear to tread...there"s a good chance it"s an FC variant, just because there were so many used, and other welders had them. Assuming you found no tag anywhere, look for any stamped/embossed numbers or letters (you may have to clean off any layers of grease). Can you post a pic? If not, a desc?(length, width of head, mag ID/location, water pump location/drive etc). I"ve got an FC parts book but no scanner/dig camera. Post more info, someone here may have old Lincoln specs/info or recognise. Good luck.
