I have pictures of two different engines under the help identify section of this website. I have them posted as Fairbanks, but they are actually IHC's. I am still trying to find out what the difference between the two are. One has a lever and one does not. Take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think. Thanks.

They are either LA or LB Internationals, the one without the speed control lever must have a fixed governor or a different method of adjusting the engine's speed. I am not an expert on these engines by any stretch of the imagination, but the one without the lever might be an earlier LA. The LB is pretty much the same engine only larger, 3-5hp.

I have a La and it does not have the throttle lever the LB engine does. The LA and LB bolth came in a 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hp or a 3 to 5 hp. Mag could be an international, wico H or wico AH
