I have a Wico EK Magneto instruction book, but it makes very little reference to the condenser. Mine works well and snaps open but will not spark. The points are clean. Is there a way to test the condenser? I checked the archives but found very little information on the condenser. Thanks for any help, Tom/Idaho

It's common for those condensors to short, or get "leaky".

With the condensor out-of-circuit, an Ohmmeter should show resistance for a slip second, as the capacitor charges, then read "infinity". That is a ROUGH test, doesn't prove for 100% certain.

A new condensor is CHEAP... try swapping in a new one.

Some folks use Sprague "orange drop" capacitors, unfortunately, I don't have a part number or value at hand.
