i have a wisconisin ve4 motor.. im needing to know if any of u all have a start for this u would like to sell. mine is junk and i cant find one.. any help is gratful.. thanks in advance

ok guys, i hate to keep braing this subject up.. but could some one tell me if this mbg-4109 starter is the same as the mz-4118 one that i have only the mbg-4109 is 12 volt right.. is it the same mounting style and drive stly.. my parts dealer sayes if i order the mbg-4109 and its wrong im stuck with it.. ans thats 200+ dollars down the tube..so coulde some one show me a pick or know for sure that this starter will wrok on my motor.. thanks very much troy

I would say that it would drop right in.
Course, Wisconsin has changed the P/N, it is now YA 54 A.
Go to this web site. Maybe you can find a better parts suppler.

Thats the numbers Wisconsin gives in their book.And yes, those are the numbers for 12-volt starters.
The numbers for 6-volt starters would be, Wisconsin P/N YA-19-3-S1 and Prestolite P/N MZ-4192, MZ-4184 & MZ-4118

For a 12-volt starter for a Wisconsin VE4D/VF4d. The Wisconsin P/N would be YA-18-3-S1. The Prestolite P/N would be MBG-4109 and MBG-4024

In my humble oppion the starter rebuild place you took your old starter to DID NOT want to work on your starter. The field coils can be replaced and if need be the armature can be rewound. It depends on how much money you want to spend.

my old starter is tost.. all the insides are melted is what the starter re-bild guy sayed.. so im needing a new one or good used one.. i need a 12-volt start.. mine was a 6-volt but they had a 12-volt battery on it with out it being cut down to the 6-volt.. so thats why it burnt up.. the number on the starter is auto-light mz 4118.. can someone tell me a match to this starter in a 12-volt instead of a 6-volt??

I assume you need a starter. Have you tried taking your old starter to a starter rebuild shop. I bet that can fix your old one.
