wisconsin timeing?

Have a wisconsin AEN with the fairbanks XIB7E mag. how do i time it. thank Jim

Set mag points at .015". Remove the flywheel screen and the timing plug by where mag mounts. Then make sure engine is on TDC compression stroke and leading edge of flywheel vane marked X and DC are in line with timing mark at top of air shroud. Install mag so the tooth marked X is in middle of timing plug hole. If you timed it right the impulse coupling will trip when cranshaft keyway is up while turning engine.

I was told the easyest way is to remove the head and turn the engine to tdc and a hair more. Then install the mag so the impluse snaps there.Just keep trying untill you get it right.This is NOT what the manuel says.
