I HAVE APPLIED NEW POINTS ROTOR AND CAP, A NEW FUEL PUMP, SET THE POINT GAP @ .20 AND THE PLUGS AT .30 TIMING IS ON THE MARK. UNDER LOAD IT HAS STARTED TO SPUTTER AND BACKFIRE THEN JUST STOPS AS IF RUNNING OUT OF FUEL?

The symptoms fit many causes, to list a few:

Coil breakdown as it heats up, attach timing light to one of the plug leads and see if the spark falters as the engine falters.

Fit a fuel pressure gauge as near to the carby as you can ad see if the pressure drops off as the engine falters. Could be a blocked fuel filter or air getting into the suction side of the fuel system if pressure drops.

If tappets are too close this could be a problem as the engine heats up. Inlet should be 0.08� and exhaust 0.16�.
