I have a 8/9 HP fairbanks- morse that I want to rebuild. Can anyone gave me any info on where the serial # is and where I can find parts. I am new to the hit & miss engines rebuild but have always like to see them run.

Love this site is full of good info and experienced people. Have recieved help in the past on the 8N forum and had great info that help alot.

I have a fair amount of info on Fairbanks engines. Do you have the serial # ? Usually, it is on a boss on top of the water hopper. Let me know what you need, I'll help where I can.

I have read where some folks have been able to get information on their specific engine from the archivist at Fairbanks-Morse. It's worth a try to contact them, although, I suppose as time passes the chance for any information from them will likely decrease.
