How should I paint the manifold ?
I bought a new aftermarket intake/exhaust manifold.
Should I put high temperature black paint on the exhaust manifold and green on the intake? If so, should I put primer on before the paint?
Or should I just paint all of it green and let it burn off?
Thanks for your help

At the factory they just assembled them and the manifold got painted tractor color or not. Now days most everyone likes to use the high temp rattle can paint and it works well most times. Clean and blast the manifold down to bare metal and don't use primer and just the high temp paint. Some of the BBQ grill paints don't work well so go with highest temp rating paint you can find for best results.

I picked up a tip some years ago that really works well...stove polish! You know, that old fashioned blackening compound for the old cast iron stoves. Still widely available at most good hardware stores. I think it's mostly carbon black/graphite and withstands very high temps.. but not a lot of rust protection. I painted it on a four cylinder manifold and it still looks good after several years. If it starts to look a little "tatty" just brush on some more.
